Why we should take a child’s perspective

The day I take my son to school, I tend to login to work early to get a few things done. On one such day (Today, January 31st 2018), I see a few emails that have been escalated and I do the thing that you are not meant to do, allow them to annoy me.

My son eats his breakfast and I feel bad as I have to deal with a work issue. At this point in the week, I have already done two long days at work and so feel like a rubbish Dad to a 5 year old.

Me: I just need to complete this and then I am all yours. I need to deal with this emergency.

Son: oh no has there been a fire or has someone been hurt.

Children really do put things into perspective. Most of us don’t save lives and should not allow work to take over.
