It has arrived. Ricoh Griii x HDF. This thing is tiny and so light. 📷

Aeryn

awesome! I’m a little bit jealous

Christopher Wilson

not jealous not jealous not jealous…okay! I’m envious!

Munish

@aeryn @chriswilson haha. Well maybe this will make you feel a bit better. I have only had the camera for a short while and although, I understand the hype for it’s size, I am kind of underwhelmed on the rest of it. Maybe it is because I am not a hard core photographer like others on here, so expected a few more “point and shoot capabilities”. I need to experiment and spend more time with it!

Aeryn

looking forward to seeing your photos. I’ve been shooting with the GR II for a long time and I love it so much and I usually have it with me when I’m out and about. There’s plenty of great tutorials and recipes for the filters you can make and save out there on YouTube.

Munish

@aeryn I hope I will like it as much as you in time. Thanks for all you tips to date.

Munish

@TravelEssayist 24 hrs in, I understand why people love it. It so compact and the images are brilliant. However, I am still not convinced about the aesthetics. At this price why are not people buying the Panasonic lx range or spend more and get the Leica Dlux 8? I am warming to it slowly, but would love to understand what is drawing you to it and not other cameras ?

Munish

@TravelEssayist I totally get what you mean. For someone of your calibre (I have seen your amazing photos), you will get a lot out of this camera. To be fair, this community has pointed me in to a lot of beginner tips for the Ricoh range etc. I do not think the build quality is there as on a Fuji. However; it’s also a fraction of the weight. I will assume you have many cameras ?

Munish

@TravelEssayist I think only those who really know what they are doing can get the most out of an iPhone. Also, a good point and shoot. You have to go for what gives you joy 😊📸

Munish

@aeryn just wondering, do you have a protector on your lens cap ?

Aeryn

no I just keep it in a little pouch for protection but no lens cover or anything like that

Munish

@aeryn thank you. I have been trying one out and thought, do I really need it. It takes away the compactness. I am missing one thing. The electronic viewfinder

Aeryn

nice, sounds like a plan. I didn’t know you could get an EVF for the GR III

Munish

@aeryn there is an expensive version from Ricoh and cheaper 3rd party versions. I just wish there were electronic versions.
